Eric Wiseman Named to Harvard Business Review’s List of Best-Performing CEOs

Harvard Business Review has named VF Corporation Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Eric Wiseman to its list of best-performing CEOs.

Wiseman, who has 35 years of experience in the apparel industry is No. 68 on the list. This year marks the fourth consecutive year he made the list.

Harvard Business Review provides professionals around the world with rigorous insights and best practices to lead themselves and their organizations more effectively and to make a positive impact. Its list of best-performing CEOs ranks leaders by results produced over their tenure based on objective data.

Wiseman began his career with VF in 1995 when he joined the company as Executive Vice President of the JanSport® brand. He then held a progression of leadership roles, including Chairman of VF's Sportswear and Outdoor coalitions and Executive Vice President, Global Brands.

In 2006, Wiseman was named President & Chief Operating Officer and elected to VF’s board of directors. He was named CEO in January 2008 and Chairman of the Board in August 2008.

Wiseman holds a bachelor’s degree in business and an MBA from Wake Forest University, and is an active corporate citizen in the Greensboro, N.C., community and the Piedmont Triad region.

He serves on the boards of Cigna Corporation, Lowe’s Companies, Inc., the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) and the Wake Forest Board of Visitors and is a member of the American Heart Association’s CEO Roundtable.

On Jan. 1, 2017, Wiseman will transition to serve as Executive Chairman of VF’s board of directors. President & Chief Operating Officer Steven E. Rendle will become VF’s next CEO.
