April 7, 2017

VF Corporation last week unveiled the company’s new multi-year business strategy to investors and financial analysts during its Investor Day in Boston.

During the event, leaders highlighted the company’s 2021 strategic growth plan, including presentations from VF’s largest brands and businesses.

“Our 2021 strategic growth plan fuels our aspiration to consistently grow by creating amazing products and brand experiences that transform and improve the lives of consumers worldwide,” said Steve Rendle, President and Chief Executive Officer. “VF has some of the most beloved and iconic brands in the world and a talented organization that has the passion and commitment to thrive in a rapidly changing marketplace.”

Rendle opened the day by addressing the changing market landscape and how VF’s new global strategy will unlock new opportunities to position the company for success today and in the future.

The new global strategy focuses on the following set of strategic choices:

  • Reshape the portfolio and enable VF’s powerful brands;
  • Transform to a consumer- and retail-centric model;
  • Elevate VF’s direct-to-consumer business while prioritizing digital; and,
  • Distort investments toward Asia, with a heightened focus on China.

These strategic choices will be empowered by investments in and focus on six critical capabilities, including: design and innovation, demand creation and brand experience, insights and analytics, retail excellence, demand and supply chain agility, and talent.

Following Steve Rendle’s remarks, Doug Palladini, President of Vans®; Arne Arens, General Manager for The North Face® EMEA; Jim Pisani, Global Brand President, Timberland®; Tom Waldron, President of Wrangler®; and Curt Holtz, President of Imagewear, Jeans and Sportswear Brands gave business updates. Greg Pulsifer, Vice President, Digital, provided an update about VF’s latest digital initiatives, while Scott Roe, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, offered insights about the company’s finances.

Just before breaking for lunch, Aidan O’Meara, President of the Asia-Pacific region, hosted an international panel featuring Scott Baxter, Vice President, VF Corporation & Group President, Outdoor & Action Sports Americas; Kevin Bailey, President of VF’s Asia-Pacific region; and Martino Scabbia Guerrini, President of VF’s EMEA region.
