VF’s CIO Discusses Business Technology at Greensboro Rotary Club

August 1, 2017

At VF, technology is much more than the hardware and software that makes doing business easier. It’s a strategic business partner that enables growth for the company and VF’s brands.

Martin Schneider, VF’s Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), highlighted this during a recent speech at the Rotary Club of Greensboro, North Carolina.

“Our team is responsible for leading innovative technology solutions that enable VF to achieve its business objectives while also transforming VF’s IT function into a valued, strategic partner that is helping to drive our business forward,” Schneider said to more than 150 local business leaders who attended the event.

VF’s Global Business Technology (GBT) team works with VF’s businesses around the globe to develop innovative solutions to meet their needs.

Schneider and his team of more than 500 IT professionals have led large-scale technology projects to help VF, its brands and its more than 60,000 associates navigate rapid technological changes. Among the initiatives the team is currently focused on is helping VF’s brands continuously innovate around e-commerce and in-store technology to enhance the customer experience.

Last year, VF ranked No. 20 on the 2016 InformationWeek Elite 100 list, a list that recognizes top business technology innovators in the U.S.

VF and its brands have long partnered with the Rotary Club. In 2016, Wrangler® joined eight Greensboro-area Rotary clubs for “Designs to Fight Hunger,” an initiative where volunteers built structures using canned foods and cereal boxes to raise awareness about hunger.

Schneider is retiring at the end of 2017 after leading VF's GBT organization for the past 11 years.
