VF Launches New Purpose

CEO Steve Rendle unveils company’s Purpose during Global Leadership Conference

More than 300 of VF’s top leaders from around the world recently gathered for a three-day Global Leadership Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. During the conference, Chairman, President & CEO Steve Rendle unveiled VF’s new Purpose that will transform the 119-year-old company into a Purpose-led, performance-driven and value-creating organization.

VF’s Purpose is: We power movements of sustainable and active lifestyles for the betterment of people and our planet.

“Our Purpose is why we exist and do what we do,” said Rendle. “It articulates the difference we aspire to make in the world. It sharpens our focus and informs our decisions. And, it galvanizes our global workforce to come together as One VF to form stronger relationships with each other as well as with customers, consumers, stakeholders and others outside our business.”

VF’s Purpose was developed over the course of one year using a thoughtful approach that included input from more than 1,000 VF associates from around the world, external stakeholders and experts. By understanding the integral combination of business and purpose, VF hopes to create a movement that helps consumers and associates, alike, participate in and drive its global impact.  

During the conference, Rendle and members of VF’s Senior Leadership Team also shared progress made toward the 2021 Global Business Strategy and how each associate can contribute to the company’s global business transformation.
