VF’s Worker and Community Development Program Hits Goal, Improving the Lives of Over 1 Million People

This week, VF Corporation launched our FY25 Environmental and Social Responsibility Report, detailing our progress towards environmental and social targets. Additionally, the report highlights the progress of our Worker & Community Development (WCD) program, which has improved the lives of over 1 million people—a milestone we achieved ahead of our FY26 target. Since its launch in 2017, the WCD program has focused on improving the well-being of workers and their communities through tailored projects that address real, on-the-ground needs.

Informed by direct engagement with thousands of workers and supplier management, the WCD program is guided by the principle of shared value and centers around three interconnected focus areas: childcare and education; health and nutrition; and access to clean water and sanitation. Through targeting outcomes that benefit workers, businesses and society at large, WCD strengthens the resilience of VF’s supply chain while addressing needs that extend beyond the factory walls.

Since 2017, WCD has supported 33 projects across 15 countries. These included:

  • Summer camps and parenting workshops in China to help migrant workers reconnect with their children and build stronger family relationships.
  • Community-based childcare centers in Cambodia, enabling working parents—especially mothers—to stay employed while ensuring safe, reliable and affordable care for their children.
  • Health screenings and nutrition education in India and Bangladesh, improving access to essential services and reducing absenteeism linked to preventable health issues.
  • Water and sanitation infrastructure upgrades in Kenya, Bangladesh and Cambodia, benefiting hundreds of thousands of people and helping reduce hygiene-related illnesses.
